The Impingtones

We are a friendly not-for-profit community choir in Histon and Impington near Cambridge since 2016, who now meet at the Park Primary School in Histon. We sing mostly pop, folk and musical scores with the odd more challenging piece, all under the masterful guidance of our excellent choir leader, Bridget Hardy. We meet on Wednesday evenings during term time in the Main Hall, arriving 6:15pm to sing from 6:30 to 7:30.  We charge £30 per half-term (payable at start of term) to cover our costs, but your first session is free – so do get in touch with us in order to give us a try!  Please see our News page for latest information.

Did you know that singing not only makes you feel good but there are proven health benefits, and Dr Michael Moseley in Just One Thing on Radio 4 looks into the unique mood-lifting ability of singing and how it can boost your immune system and could even help treat chronic pain! 😀

We aim to be a fun choir for anyone with or without previous singing experience. There are no auditions or need to read music – just come along and give it a go. It’s amazing how quickly you can pick it up!   We sometimes sing “ooo”s and “ah”s in parts, but don’t worry if you find yourself flat on your “ah”s – the Impingtones will help you out! 😀

One of our members recently moved away and wrote: “I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and the Impingtones committee for all the wonderful work you do. Thank you for establishing the choir, I think it was just what the village needed. When I joined the choir my confidence was at a low. However, the welcoming atmosphere and friendliness of the members helped dramatically. I have loved being part of the choir and have re-ignited my enjoyment of singing.”
